OUR ON LINE 2020 ART EXHIBITION
In March 2020, our art classes in Grange, Co. and Forthill, Sligo, like most other schools etc, fell victim to the Covid 19 Government restrictions resulting in our doors closing indefinitely.
Shortly afterwards, during our first lockdown in April, I began to paint (on-line) a different subject every few days just to keep myself busy.
I invited anyone who wished to join me, to paint along with the aid of my daily online updates, advise and tutorials.
In June 2020, as Covid 19 restrictions were still in place, I realized our annual charity art exhibition would have to be postponed, but decided that an on-line exhibition could still be possible as a way of showcasing the work that was being created by people at their own homes on Zoom.
In December 2020 we had our first ever on-line art exhibition which turned out to be a great success. We raised over €3,400 for the charities concerned.
We resumed our Zoom classes again from January to May 2021 as the Covid restrictions continued relentlessly .
As the weather started to improve, we began to paint outdoors under a newly constructed outdoor area at the rear of my house.
A few months later, our indoor classes resumed under certain Covid guidelines. Very different conditions, but, as we all agreed…we were just glad to be back
We wre hoping to exhibit once again in Grange Hall this year, but due to ongoing circumstances it was decided that this wasn’t practical.
This is how this 2021 on-line art exhibition came to be.
I hope you enjoy it.
Feel free to make a donation. It’s in aid of our local St Vincent de Paul Society and the Sligo Cancer Support Centre, Wine St., Sligo.
This exhibition is not only the work of people from my Grange art group, but from various Zoom art classes that I conducted during 2021 with the aid of the Sligo Cancer Support Centre and Sligo Leader. Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement .
I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone back to classes sometime in January 2022. Dates will be posted shortly
I hope you enjoy our exhibition below:
