Zoom Art Classes Exhibition 2020

In March 2020, our art classes in Grange, Co. and Forthill, Sligo, like most other schools etc, fell victim to the Covid 19 Government resulting in our doors closing indefinitely.

Shortly afterwards, during our first lockdown in April, I began to paint on-line, a different subject every few days.

I invited anyone who wished to join me to paint along with me with the help of my daily online updates, advise and tutorials.

These on-line classes quickly progressed to live Zoom art class meetings open to my classes or to anyone who wished to take part, where people could regularly met up with familiar faces whilst getting weekly advice with their paintings with demonstrations when necessary

In June, as Covid 19 restrictions were still in place, I realized our annual charity art exhibition would have to be postponed, but decided that an on-line Zoom class art exhibition could still be possible as a way of showcasing the work that was being created at home with Zoom during these uncertain times.

This is how this exhibition came to be. I hope you enjoy it and feel free to make a donation in aid of our local St Vincent de Paul Society and the Sligo Cancer Support Centre, Wine St., Sligo.

The exhibition is the work of over 70 people, not only from my art group, but from various local groups and schools. experienced and beginner, I’m grateful to you all for taking part.

Understandably some class members and friends felt that they would prefer to wait until their live classes recommenced again in 2021 to resume their painting. I’m looking forward to welcoming you all back too.

Finally I would like to thank the Sligo MSLETB in and Sligo Leader for all of their support.

I hope you enjoy our exhibition below:
